In development — spring 2027

Take the job. Split the reward. Be home by supper.

RewardlyNow is a cozy two-player adventure built around a town notice board. Pick a job, walk out into the valley with a friend, and bring back whatever the town asked for. Every reward is posted up front, and nothing you find out there is a trick.

Job of the week Posted by Mrs. Halloway

Somebody keeps moving the signposts on Old Hill

Three carts have ended up in the wrong village this month. Find out who is turning them, ask nicely first, and put every post back where it belongs.

The game

Nothing on the board is a mystery box.

Every job in RewardlyNow is written out by the person who needs it done: what they want, where it went missing, and exactly what they can pay. You read the note, you decide if it is worth the walk, and you take it down off the board. That is the whole contract.

There are no loot boxes, no season passes and no timers counting down while you are trying to enjoy a valley. If a job is worth 900 coins on Monday it is worth 900 coins whenever you get around to it.

Two people can share one board. Jobs split cleanly between you, and either of you can walk away from a run without losing what the other one carried home.

This week's board

Five notes, pinned Monday morning.

Rewards are set by the person asking, so a small favour from a generous neighbour can pay better than a long walk.

How it plays

Four things the valley promises you.

The rules we decided on first, before a single job got written.

The reward is on the note

You see the payment before you accept the job, and it never changes while you are out. No scaling, no hidden multipliers, no bonus you only learn about afterwards.

Co-op without a leash

Your friend can wander to the other end of the valley and the camera will not drag them back. Jobs stay shared, and either of you can go home early.

The valley remembers

Fix the fence at Fenmarsh and it stays fixed. Villagers mention jobs you finished weeks ago, and the board slowly fills with requests from people you have already helped.

Nothing is timed

No job expires, no event window closes, nothing punishes you for putting the game down for a month. The board waits exactly where you left it.

Roadmap

From playtest to launch day.

Dates are what we are aiming for. We would rather move one than ship a valley that is no fun to walk through.

1

Kitchen table build

Done, 2025

One village, nine jobs, and a board made of actual paper taped to a wall.

2

Friends and family playtest

Done, spring 2026

Co-op, the first two regions, and the moment we cut every timer from the game.

3

Open demo

Autumn 2026

The full Millbrook board, both valleys, and about three hours of jobs.

4

Full release

Spring 2027

All four regions, the seasonal board, and a job editor for making your own notes.

Playtesters

What early hands are saying.

"I finished a job, sat on a wall, and did not do anything else for ten minutes. No game has let me do that in years."

Playtest group 3

"My partner reads the board out loud like a newspaper and we argue about which job pays better. That is the whole game for us."

Co-op playtester

"Knowing the reward before I leave sounds like a small thing. It changed how I play completely — I pick jobs I actually want to do."
